Quilt Show Changes for PATS

After consultation with the Federal Transit Administration, it was determined Paducah Area Transit System will not be allowed to provide the shuttles for the American Quilters Society annual Quilt Show, April 22nd-25th. Anchor Trailways Tours will provide the shuttle service. Anchor will be responsible for the bus service from the AQS Quilt Show Bus Tent at the McCracken County Expo Center to area hotels, RV parks and attractions, and will man the AQS Bus stop near the Expo Center.

Last year, PATS’ AQS Shuttle Service provided rides for 35,000 quilters from around the nation and the world. This year marks the 25th anniversary for the AQS Quilt Show.
PATS will be allowed to run the Downtown Trolley since it’s a regular route provided by PATS on a daily basis. Quilters will be able to ride the trolley, free of charge, from the convention center to the American Quilters Society Museum, Lowertown and other downtown attractions. Quilters will also be able to ride the trolley to 850 Harrison, and then catch the Yellow Line to the Mall Area, the Rotary Club Quilt Show, Carson Park and destinations along Park Avenue. Visitors driving to Paducah will be able to park their cars at Carson Park and ride PATS buses to PATS' Park n Ride, across the street from the Julian Carroll Convention Center.

PATS also plans to beef up its Dial A Ride service for the week. Dial A Ride will be the best mode of transportation for wheelchair-bound and other passengers with a disability.

In the meantime, renovations continue at the Executive Inn and Convention Center.
