PATS RECEIVES FUNDING TO REINSTATE “NIGHT OWL” SERVICE

Paducah Area Transit System will resume its “Night Owl” service to transport qualified individuals to and from jobs in Paducah and McCracken County from 7PM-Midnight, Monday through Saturday. Under the Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC) program, qualified individuals pay a reduced fee for approved transportation to work, child-care and job training education. Passengers will need prior approval and must reserve these rides 24 hours in advance.

“This is great news!” said PATS Executive Director Kim Adair. “This grant can help people in Paducah and McCracken County have a positive impact on our local economy.”

The program not only provides reduced fares for those working during nighttime hours, but also makes it easier for working parents by providing the same reduced fares for transportation to child-care while they’re working, and also providing the reduced rates for transportation to approved educational courses, so they can learn a new skill or occupation.
Those approved for JARC transportation will pay only half the normal scheduled service Dial-A-Ride rate of $1.75 per mile. The JARC passengers will pay only 88 cents per mile. For more information, call (270) 444-8700.
