PATS Suspending Sunday Dial A Ride

The Paducah Area Transit System Board of Directors voted to suspend it’s Dial A Ride Service on Sundays, citing a lack of passengers on Sundays combined with needed cost cutting measures.

"Through the first 3 months of the fiscal year, we lost $10,000 on Sundays, "said PATS Executive Director Kim Adair, "In light of the budget cuts we’ve endured this fiscal year, it quickly became apparent that running Dial A Ride on Sundays is just not economically feasible right now."

PATS had been averaging only about 50 to 60 trips on Sundays, as opposed to an average weekday, which averages close to 500 trips per day.
The change is effective Sunday, January 18th.
